A Week of Fun and Work

Our daughter and family came for a visit this week and we went horseback riding at Land Between the Lakes~Golden Pond. The ride was an hour and half through meadows, across streams, through the woods, up and down hills and along trails within eyesight of the lake. We saw a large black rat snake on the path!! What a beautiful afternoon...although a little saddle sore the next day, it was worth it!

The lakes are a great place to relax and enjoy nature. During the summer the granddaughter's fish, swim, and enjoy a visit to the 1850 Homeplace and Nature Center.

Madison shows off a small stripped bass...our favorite catch is bluegill!

Yummy Lunch!!!

After the kids left, it was time to put in the new windows ...the workmen will arrive today and finish the outside work. All new windows and doors are a nice and long overdue update.

The garden is still on hold for a few more weeks and then the tiller will go into action!

Right now the Azalea bush is in bloom and the lilac. Here's a look around the yard.

Victor came to visit us and our small rat-terrier, Brutus.

This photo makes me VERY happy! Last spring we planted two red maple trees. This winter a buck, doe and 2 young deer would come to the yard each night. The buck started scrapping the small trees with his antlers before we noticed. There was damage. So hopefully the little trees are going to make it!!! These leaves are a good sign.

Brutus is checking the garden spot out and enjoying the springtime weather. (Tonight it will be winter like weather with freezing temps).

Well that brings us to the end of another week. Till next time.
