Busy Week For Nature

This has been a busy week away from home, lots of miles put on the car! It  was lovely to see the countryside with the trees changing from their spring color to the brilliant green of almost summer. Wheat fields are beginning to grow and the bright yellow canola fields are sure to catch your eye as you travel down the road. Horses behind white fences are always a beautiful Kentucky view. Wild turkey and deer were also spotted in the fields. The moon was hanging full as we arrived home at midnight.

Here at home the weather has been filled with rain, sun, and fog. This is what a foggy morning looks like from out the back door...

The bluebirds have not returned, but the summer house wrens have been quite busy! They are singing right now as I sit at the computer desk.

The garden has not been put out yet (due to all the travelling this week)... should start tilling and planting by May 1! I checked on the mulberry tree and it is doing really good!! There should be lots of berries this year.

~a beautiful sunrise this week~

One morning I opened the front door to find a neighbor of a neighbor's bird dog on the porch. A friendly bird dog!! It followed me around as I checked on the mulberry tree.

It looks like fall in the front yard...southern magnolia is dropping yellow leaves, which gives that feel of fall.

Our dog Brutus has been home-bound because of an amorous female dog across the road. We have been listening to his plaintive howls off and on during the day. Hopefully his confinement will only last a few more days!!

Brutus is waiting for the words "time for bed"...as another busy week comes to an end!
