Kentucky Bluegrass

Family has recently moved to the Lexington area (a second home), which gives us a good excuse to visit the beautiful bluegrass area occasionally. The horses grazing behind white fences and large horse farms dotting the roadside added to the beauty of our travels.

My sister-in-law has been renovating their home...a small apartment above the garage has just been finished and it turned out lovely. (I especially like the small nook for reading).

As you sit in the window book corner, you can look out at horses grazing in the surrounding fields.

We bought 5 pounds of carrots just for the horses. Of course, they were too far off and didn't want to move on this hot humid afternoon. So....

we walked down the country road...

turned left and followed the fence row to the....

 HORSES

After feeding the horses, we relaxed some before heading home.

A semi- stray cat(s) have been hanging out...of course they get plenty of attention, only not IN the house!

Time passed by quickly...just like this passing train.  We had several hours of road time ahead of us; the granddaughters were ready to head west and begin their summer visit with grandma and papa.

First thing the next day M and E went fishing.  The girls brought home 25 bluegill! Glad Ronnie likes to filet :)

The second day it was horseback riding at Land Between the Lakes.

The girls had a short visit but it was GREAT spending special time with them!
