R made us a feeder that you can move around! Right now it is by the front porch and near a photo taking look-out window. The usual winter birds have been using the ground around it and the large flat top for getting a seed or two. Also about 4 squirrels have been frequently visitors.
The weather has been unseasonably warm for this time of year. Lots of good rain and just a coating of white snow. Personally I miss cold weather and SNOW!!!
But with spring just around the corner, it is time to look ahead... |
| I took this photo from the car as we traveled north to Henderson, Kentucky. |
Yesterday we moved the wren house in the backyard to a tree in the front (that makes two wren houses in the front yard.
We then replaced the wren house with another bluebird box. We have only had about two years of baby bluebirds surviving. One year we lost the father, mother and babies to two vicious house sparrows. Then another time in the dark of night a house wren removed the babies to an unknown location. SAD SAD...so we are trying again this year!!!
