Standing Guard
There are now 4 eggs in the bluebird box. The female has been sitting on the nest. The calendar has been marked for the "due date." It would be so nice to see them hatch, grow and leave the nest before we move!!! We have had some 30 degree weather at night but hopefully the eggs will stay nice and warm. Some mealy worms were placed close by for a protein snack. The male stands guard on the wire near the box. Any bird that gets too close is quickly shooed away!
The Azalea Bush is in full bloom...bright red! Strong winds have removed most of the red bud flowers on the two Red Bud Trees, but I was able to pick a few for a snack. This was the first time to actually eat them and they were delicious!!! wished I'd tried them sooner. It would be perfect on a salad. Our two small Red Maples are getting buds and I think it is about time to take off the black plastic (deer) barrier. We are still slowly working on the house and hope to put it on the market in May :))
Feeling a little tired tonight...so will just relax after a long day on the road.
From our house to yours
Juliet (and Brutus)
